Mt. Ama Dablam Cleanup Campaign Concluded today at Namche

The first cleanup campaign on Mt. Ama Dablam organized by the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) and funded by and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (KPRM) concluded at Namche today. SPCC had recruited a team of 12 members comprising of climbing experienced Sherpas for collecting trashes on Mt. Ama Dablam. The team collected a total of 775 kgs burnable and non-burnable garbage from Mt. Ama Dablam and brought back to Ama Dablam Base Camp. The Shree Shamsher Gulma (Nepal Army) from Namche helped in transporting the garbages from Ama Dablam Base Camp to our waste management facility located at Namche Bazaar. SPCC will segregate the garbages at our waste management facility at Namche. The burnable garbages will be disposed at Namche and non-burnable garbages will be transported to Kathmandu for further treatment at recycling centers. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (KPRM), Shree Shamsher Gulma (Nepal Army) and all the team members of the cleanup campaign.
