Q. What is the fee structure of Khumbu Icefall Route?

Khumbu Icefall Route fee assessment committee (MoCTCA, NMA, ESA, TAAN and SPCC) sets fee for Khumbu Icefall Route. As of 2013, every expedition team of Mt Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse should pay a total of US$25000 for route construction in the autumn season, while in spring season each climber has to pay $ 600.

Q. What documents are needed to register for garbage deposit?

You need to fill up a garbage declaration form at our office. It needs to be signed by your group leader and guide. You also need to submit a copy of group leaders’ climbing permit.

Q. Where is SPCC office?

SPCC head office is located at Namche Bazaar, Solukhumbu, Nepal. Please visit SPCC office at Namche to register your permit and get a garbage clearance certificate. To register for Mt Baruntse and Mera peak, please visit our branch office at Lukla.

Q. What is garbage clearance certificate?

SPCC provides a garbage clearance certificate to expedition groups upon declaration and submission of all burnable and non-burnable garbage at SPCC office. It is required to get the garbage deposit refund from MoCTA or NMA.

Q. When will the Island Peak Route open?

The route for autumn climbing season will be open from 15th August till 31st December, and the route for spring climbing season will be open from 15th February till 15th June of each year.
