Imja Tse (Island Peak) Climbing Route (Autumn 2021) Update

The Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) inspects the climbing route of Island peak at the beginning of every climbing season, and install ladders if wide crevasses appears along the route. On 10th September 2021, our technical team have checked the climbing route of Island peak for this autumn climbing season. At this time, there is no wide crevasse seen along the route. Our team will continue to monitor the route throughout the climbing season and will install ladders if/when crevasses appears along the route.
Our scope of work is to inspect crevasses along the route and install ladders when required. Climbers need to use their own ropes and equipment for climbing.
