As the spring climbing season is approaching our icefall doctors’ team have reached Everest Base Camp today where they will spend another three months to fix and maintain the Khumbu icefall route for climbers attempting Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nupste. Since 1997, the SPCC has been contracted by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) to set the climbing route through the Khumbu Icefall each year.
