A total of 109 representatives from various organizations took part in our annual “Khumbu Public Awareness Raising Cleanup Campaign 2071”held from 20-24 June 2014 in the route of Namche Bazaar – Thame – Lungden – Renjolapass (5340 mtrs) – Gokyo – Dole - Namche Bazaar. The cleanup campaign was organized in coordination with SNPBZMC.
Participants were divided into four groups (Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori) led by Eco club network representatives. The participants collected a total of 1,196 kg burnable garbage and 199 kg non-burnable garbage in the five days long cleanup campaign. The campaign was concluded at Namche Bazaar on 24thJune 2014.
Mr. Ang Dorjee Sherpa, Chairperson of SPCC and Mr. Sonam Gyalzen Sherpa, Chairperson of SNPBZMC presented Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.
